Gavin (son of Keith Jones) started sailing Mirror dinghies at Balmoral Sailing Club. He won his first state tile in the Mirror dinghies on his boat Jabberwocky. He graduated to NS14's and won 2 state titles in that class.

He then took up sailing at the Middle Harbour 16ft Skiff Club, before moving to Manly 16ft skiff Club and manage to win 2 Australian titles in 1986 & 1987 in his boat A.S.E.A. www.skiffs.org.au/images/ResultsPDF/Past_Champions/Past_Champions-Australia.pdf 

 

Next Gavin ventured into the 18ft League, winning the Club Championships.

Gavin is now sailing a one man Spiral dinghy after travelling overseas for many years for work.
