Nine Dragons

The original 'Nine Dragons' a North Shore 369 was purchased by Bob Cox in 2006 as his first yacht. After continued development and a successful race history the 369 proved to be the most competitive of its kind on IRC, both inshore and offshore. The 369 is available for sale having been replaced by a DK46  also named 'Nine Dragons'.

The new 'Nine Dragons' raced successfully in Asia as 'Evolution Racing' and came with a good track record. Having been sailed from Singapore she proved her seaworthiness, but did require some remedial / upgrade work on arrival in Sydney.

The DK46 'Nine Dragons' has already demonstrated encouraging performances at club racing level on IRC at Middle Harbour Yacht Club. One of the big attractions in purchasing a DK46 was the fact that Exile also a DK46 was racing from Middle Harbour Yacht Club; with a strong performance record in both inshore and offshore events.

We would like to thank Dion Hart from Pacific Rigging, Mitch White from Mitch White Sailing, Richie from Norths Sails and Bruce from Sydney Rigging for all their help and support in getting the DK46 on the water and race ready.

Nine Dragons Sailing

What is Nine Dragons Sailing about?

Results, with good sportsmanship, recognising the success of our competitors and respecting their achievements.

At the same time, pushing ourselves to better our performance through crew development and training and using the best technology to advance.

We give respect and loyalty to our crew and expect the same.

As a team we have fun together, enjoy successes and fight back from disappointment to succeed again.

Our philosophy is based on the fact that no one can expect success all the time. Complacency and overconfidence in ones own ability only leads to a drop off in performance.

Therefore we must strive to continue to improve.

What are the Nine Dragons?

The Chinese Dragon is the symbol of  protection and success. It is regarded as the supreme being among all creatures.

There are Nine Dragons; the Earth Dragon, Wind Dragon, Sea Dragon, Water Dragon, Sky Dragon, Fire Dragon, Golden Dragon, Mountain Dragon and Heavenly Dragon.

Chinese Dragons control the rain, rivers, lakes, and seas. Being the divine mythical animal, the Dragon can ward off wandering evil spirits, protect the innocent and bestow safety to all. The Nine Dragons are invincible!
